Keith Richards has left a New Zealand hospital where he was admitted last week with a head injury suffered while on vacation in Fiji.

"I can categorically confirm Mr. Richards ... is no longer a patient in this hospital," Geoff Sparks, duty manager at Auckland's Ascot Hospital, told The Associated Press today (May 2). "He has been discharged."

A spokesperson for the band has not disclosed the nature of Richards' injury, which many Australian and New Zealand outlets reported as stemming from a fall from a palm tree.

The spokesperson told Reuters that Richards is making "a speedy recovery" and that the Stones' world tour would resume on schedule May 27 in Barcelona. Dates on the marathon tour are scheduled through the summer, ending Aug. 29 in Cardiff, Wales.
