Billy Joel is returning to Madison Square Garden, where he last broke the arena's record for most consecutive sold-out shows (12) in 2006. Joel will headline the Garden on January 27, 2014, as part of the Time Warner Concert Series at Madison Square Garden, with an exclusive ticket presale for Citi card-members beginning Wednesday (Nov. 20) at 10 a.m. EST through Friday (Nov. 22) at 10 p.m. ES. Tickets will then be available to the public on Saturday (Nov. 23) at 10 a.m. EST. The performance is presented by Q104.

The Citi pre-sale is presented by Citi Private Pass, Citi's VIP entertainment program for credit and debit cardmembers. "His music is and has been the soundtrack of many of our lives, and seeing him perform is always unforgettable," says Jennifer Breithaupt, Citi's senior VP of entertainment marketing

Joel last played the Garden at last year's 12-12-12 concert for the victims of Hurricane Sandy, marking his return to the stage after a three-year hiatus from performing. He's recently hit the road this past year with gigs at Australia's Stone Music Festival, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and a brief UK tour (his first since 2006) that wrapped Nov. 8. He also played his first concert in Long Island in 11 years in October, benefitting Long Island Cares, the Hauppauge-based charity founded by Harry Chapin.

MAC Presents brokered the deal on behalf of Citi.

In December, Joel will receive The Kennedy Center Honor, one of the United States' top cultural awards.

Joel has also taken a more active role in sharing his catalog with the new generation of music fans, inking a global publishing deal with Rondor and Universal Music Publishing in 2012 designed to create more licensing and synch opportunities.

One of the first major results of that deal arrives this week, when "Glee" will air a tribute episode to Joel's music dubbed "Movin' Out" featuring seven of the musician's songs.
