Arcade Fire Drops Lyric Video for 'Afterlife'

Arcade Fire

A little over a week out from the release of its fourth studio album, Arcade Fire has premiered the studio cut of another song from "Reflektor" -- this time "Afterlife," the second song the band performed during its set on "Saturday Night Live" last month.

After premiering on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show earlier in the day, the song's lyric video hit YouTube on Monday (Oct. 21). The clip for the synth-heavy tune features footage from the 1959 Portuguese-language film "Black Orpheus," over which the songs lyrics are displayed.

The release of the nearly-six-minute "Afterlife" follows lead single "Reflektor" and comes directly before the band's appearance as The Reflektor's on tonight's episode of "The Colbert Report" on Comedy Central. "Reflektor" itself is out next Tuesday (Oct. 29) on Merge Records.
