'Carrie' Soundtrack: HAIM, Vampire Weekend, Passion Pit In the Mix

Fans will be showered with a bucket of indie rock when the soundtrack for upcoming horror remake "Carrie" is released on Oct. 15. Columbia Records announced today they will release the 12-song album three days before the film hits theaters.

Artists include HAIM, Vampire Weekend, Passion Pitt and Portugal. the Man, as well as a cover of Bob Dylan's "Tombstone Blues" by Matrimony. The Civil Wars and Krewella also contribute tracks.

"Carrie" stars Chloë Grace Moretz as Carrie White, a telekinetic teen who gets pushed a wee bit too far at the senior prom in her small town. Julianne Moore stars as Carrie's creepy mom and Kimberly Peirce ("Boys Don't Cry") directs a screenplay based on Stephen King's famed novel. The original film, released in 1976, starred Sissy Spacek in the titular role.
