Deerhunter Cancel U.K. & Europe Dates, ‘Family Circumstances’ To Blame

Atlanta-based five-piece Deerhunter have nixed their upcoming European tour citing “unforeseen circumstances.”

The news was shared in a statement posted by British promoters All Tomorrow’s Parties, who had booked Deerhunter for a now-cancelled Nov. 6 date at North London’s Roundhouse venue. 

“We were very excited for these shows, but unfortunately family circumstances at home for multiple members of the band have made this unavoidable," the statement reads. "We will reschedule as soon as possible."

The canned dates were meant to begin Oct. 13 with a show in Glasgow, Scotland. At the time of writing, the band’s upcoming tour dates in the U.S. (Sept. 18-22), Japan (Dec. 1) and Australia (Dec. 7-13) hadn’t been scrapped.

Deerhunter’s fifth studio album "Monomania" dropped earlier this year through 4AD Records, and yielded new single “Back To The Middle.” The clip, which is shot in London and directed by Olivier Groulx, can be watched below.
