Ylvis’ Absurd ‘The Fox’ Video Goes Viral: Watch

Ever wondered what a fox says? Nope, me neither. But that hasn't stopped a pair of Norwegian brothers from posing the question with a bizarre video. And it's getting serious traction right now.

Siblings Bård Ylvisåker and Vegard Ylvisåker -- who together make up Ylvis -- punch out a string of animal-oriented clues which will have viewers either laughing or desperately reaching for the kill-switch on their computer.

Cue images of grown folks in animal suits cutting loose in a laser-lit forest, all set to an EDM soundbed with lyrics that are as silly as the visuals. The track was produced by superstar producers Stargate, the Norwegian team behind Rihanna's "Diamonds" and Katy Perry's "Firework," among others.

The use of the word “fox” in the chorus catches the ear for its similarity to another word beginning with “f”.

Ylvis apparently created the video to promote the season premiere of their forthcoming talk show on TVNorge. Some observers describe the song as a reaction to the overblown EDM scene. Others think it's just plain nonsense. Regardless, the clip is going big. At press time, the four-minute video was closing in on two million views on YouTube.
