That's when the country duo plans to release its third album as well as a book, titled "Big & Rich: All Access."
Group member Big Kenny Alphin tells Billboard.com that he and partner John Rich have recorded about 13 songs so far and are aiming to have 20 to consider for the still-untitled follow-up to 2005's platinum "Comin' to Your Town."
"Things are sounding real good, like great songs first and foremost," he says. "We're right in the middle of it, really, but it feels like we're lifting the overall quality to a higher standard. We're just trying to make a compilation of great songs that move us."
The book, meanwhile, was the idea of Warner Books and is more of a celebration of the duo than a strict biography. "It does touch on where both of us came from," Big Kenny says, "but it mostly tells stories about all the things that have happened since we came together (in 1998), from how the records came about and all the crazy family that we have in the Musik Mafia and all the projects we've worked on and some of the philosophies of what we do."
"All Access" will be decked out with 250-300 photos, both performance shots and candids from Rich and Kenny's own collections. "It's kind of a family album for us," Kenny says. "It's cool to be able to sit there and look at the time that's passed and what we've been able to accomplish."
Kenny is working on some other projects in his "spare time," meanwhile: a musical called "Code Name Rock Star" and "Milk and Beer: Pirate Songs for Sons and Fathers," which he plans to start as a film and then adapt into a stage musical as well.
"We're gonna do anything, dude -- and everything," he says with a laugh. "Anything you can create and have fun creating it, we're gonna try to get to it at some point in time."
