Justin Bieber to Appear on 'The Simpsons'

Springfield is about to get a lot more "swaggy": Justin Bieber announced yesterday that he will be making a cameo on the upcoming 24th season of "The Simpsons."

"Just did a voice over for the SIMPSONS!!! #swaggy," the Canadian pop star tweeted (and then later deleted) on Tuesday.

Speaking to EW, "Simpsons" ep Al Jean said that Bieber will appear on the Sept. 30 episode of the Fox series, "The Fabulous Faker Boy," where the teen idol "tries to get into a talent show that Bart is playing piano in and they won't admit him."

He joins musical icons like Michael Jackson, Johnny Cash, Elton John, Dolly Parton, Sting and Britney Spears, all of whom have been animated for past seasons of "The Simpsons." In recent years, Lady Gaga, Ted Nugent, Katy Perry, "American Idol" judges, and several members of the "Glee" cast have all appeared.

The 2013 season will also see appearances by Max Weinberg (of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band), She & Him singer Zooey Deschanel and actors like Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway and Natalie Portman. Composer Marvin Hamlisch, who died at the age of 68 on Aug. 6, also recorded lines for a guest role on the upcoming "Simpsons" season, USA Today reported in July.
