Exclusive First Look: Taylor Swift to Appear on Disney's 'Phineas and Ferb' Show
As pictured in Billboard.com's exclusive first look photo, Taylor Swift will be a guest star on an upcoming episode of the Disney Channel's "Phineas and Ferb" animated show. The country star's appearance will air Feb. 18 at 9:25 p.m. on the channel. Past guests of the variety talk show include Jack Black, Andy Samberg, Seth Rogen and Tony Hawk.
Lady Gaga Reveals 'Born This Way' Song Titles
Lady Gaga has released song titles for five of 17 songs -- "Hair," "Bad Kids," "Government Hooker," "Judas" and "Americano" -- on her upcoming album, "Born This Way." In a recent Vogue cover story, Gaga mentioned that after she wrote the album's title track, set to be released tomorrow, "the gates just opened, and the songs kept coming. It was like an immaculate conception." According to the Lady, the songs cover issues including gay marriage and immigration law, and channel such music greats as Edith Piaf, The Ronettes, and Bruce Springsteen. ( PerezHilton.com)
Ex-Smashing Pumpkins Bassist Arrested, Jailed
Original Smashing Pumpkins bassist D'arcy Wretzky was arrested and jailed Tuesday morning in Michigan after not showing up for four straight court dates. Wretzky was cited in 2009 for the crime of "animals running at large" after her horses escaped from their enclosures on her property and neighbors filed a complaint. She failed to pay the ticket issued to her, prompting the court dates, which she also failed to attend. Wretzky is currently scheduled to be released from custody at the Berrien County Jail in St. Joseph, Mich. on Feb. 14. (TMZ, THR)
Bieber Nail Polish Reaches 1 Million Sold
Justin Bieber's brand of nail polish has officially hit 1 million bottles sold -- with even more shipments to come. His "One Less Lonely Girl" line, released in December, has sold out in stores across the country, but Nicole by Opi, the makers of the polish, announced that it has shipped a triple order nationwide in order to meet consumer demand. Danger Mouse/Jack White Collaboration Given Release Date
Renowned producer Danger Mouse's upcoming spaghetti western-inspired project with Italian composer Daniele Luppi, "Rome," officially has a release date of May 17 in the U.S. via Capitol Records. "Rome" will feature contributions from and Jack White on three songs and Norah Jones on three additional tracks. (Pitchfork)
Activision Kills 'Guitar Hero' Franchise
During its quarterly earnings conference call yesterday (feb. 9), gaming company Activision revealed that it has cancelled the planned 2011 installment of the "Guitar Hero" franchise and the entire unit created to develop the game has been disbanded. "Due to continued declines in the music genre, the company will disband Activision Publishing's 'Guitar Hero' business unit and discontinue development on its 'Guitar Hero' game for 2011," read a press release. It's not yet clear whether the cancellation extends to the DJ Hero franchise, although Eurogamer reports the game's developer -- Freestyle Games -- has undergone a round of "severe layoffs."
