Kanye West To Perform with Rihanna at NBA All-Star Game?
Kanye West may join Rihanna as a performer during the NBA All-Star Halftime Show this Sunday (Feb. 20). While West's appearance has not yet been confirmed, rumors are swirling that the rapper would perform new single "All of the Lights," on which Rihanna is a featured performer. Lenny Kravitz, Josh Groban and Melanie Fiona are also among the performers during the game, which will be televised at 7:00 PM EST on TNT. ( Deadspin)
Justin Bieber Abortion Quote Changed Due to 'Editing Error'
A controversial Justin Bieber quote from his upcoming Rolling Stone cover story has been adjusted after an "editing error" by the magazine, according to RollingStone.com. In the full quote, Bieber responds to the issue of abortion after rape by saying, "Um. Well, I think that's really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I don't know how that would be a reason. I guess I haven't been in that position, so I wouldn't be able to judge that." The original edit of the story had removed the sentence, "I don't know how that would be a reason." ( Rolling Stone)
Jennifer Hudson Discusses Weight Loss on 'Ellen'
Jennifer Hudson stopped by "The Ellen DeGeneres show" yesterday (Feb. 16) to discuss her weight loss of ten dress sizes over the last year and a half. "I just knew, after I had my baby, I just wanted my body back," said Hudson. "That was when I made up my mind, I was going to go for it." Michigan's Rothbury Festival Returning Under New Name
As its organizers promised, the Rothbury Festival is returning in 2011 -- but with a new name. The Electric Forest Festival will run June 30-July 3 at the Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury, Mich., according to the newly established www.electricforestfestival.com web site. A placekeeper message on the site promises a full launch and initial lineup announcement on Feb. 28, although the group String Cheese Incident, which played Rothbury in 2009, is said to be locked in already. The Electric Forest moniker comes from the psychedelically decorated forest area at the center of the festival grounds that was a consensus highlight for fans and performers alike.
'Amadeus' Composer John Strauss Dies at 90
John Strauss, a composer and sound editor whose work includes theme songs from early TV shows and the film and soundtrack for Oscar best picture winner "Amadeus," has died. He was 90. Strauss passed away Monday night at a nursing home in West Los Angeles after a long battle with Parkinson's disease, said his son, Larry Strauss. ( The Hollywood Reporter)
Elvis Costello Announces Dates for Revolver Tour
Elvis Costello and the Imposters will hit the road later this month on the Revolver tour, with performances scheduled in Asia, Latin America, Australia, New Zeland and the U.S. The set list for each show will be determined by members of the audience spinning a giant songbook wheel of fortune which will feature a selection of 40 songs that include "hits, rarities and covers."
