"You must love all + every part of me, as must I, for this complex + incomprehensible force to be true," Gaga wrote in her tweet accompanying a link to the video. Watch below.
The video, the fourth from "Born This Way," finds Gaga tapping into her various alter-egos, from male "greaser" counterpart Jo Calderone to Yuyi the Mermaid.
Lady Gaga's 'Edge of Glory' Video Premieres: Watch
When Gaga first discussed the video concept for the country-tinged power ballad, she told Omaha radio station Channel 94.1: "The premise of the video is that I've walked all the way from New York City to Nebraska to get him [my boyfriend] back. I'm walking with no luggage, no nothing. It's just me, and my ankles are kind of bleeding a little bit, and there's grass stuck in my shoes. I've got this outfit on -- it's real sort of New York clothing." In true Gaga fashion, it's far more complicated than that.
While the "I would walk 500 miles" theme comes through in the video's initial moments, also in the mix are: torture contraptions, mermaid sex, a wedding, bondage in a barn, an ice cream truck, and to top it all off, "Children of the Corn" and religious overtones thrown in for good measure. This might just be the all-time weirdest representation of the Cornhusker state.
