To toast a year in which she made Hot 100 history, launched a sprawling world tour, earned the top prize at the MTV VMAs and stayed married to Russell Brand, Katy Perry is performing a free concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Nov. 23, a day after she wraps up her California Dreams tour at the same venue. The singer made the announcement during a visit to "Ellen" that will air later today (Nov. 11).
"I am giving thanks to all of my fans," says Perry. "This is my big announcement on 'Ellen' that no one has heard about or knows about. I played 121 shows up in to the (Nov.) 23rd date, and I want to finish it off by renting out Staples (Center) myself and giving a free concert to anyone in the world that wants to come to the 'California Dreams' Tour as my last show."
