Sleeping With Sirens Headed for Best Week Ever on Billboard 200 Chart
Rock act Sleeping With Sirens is primed for its best week ever on the Billboard charts. The band's new album "Feel" is aiming to debut in the top five on next week's Billboard 200, so suggest industry sources, with perhaps 60,000 copies sold.
The new Billboard 200 chart's top 10 will be revealed on the morning of Wednesday, June 12.
"Feel" is the band's third full-length album, and should mark its first top 10 and best sales week yet. Their last set, 2011's "Let's Cheer to This," debuted and peaked at No. 17 off an 18,000 start -- according to Nielsen SoundScan. Their first album, 2010's "With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear," didn't chart on the Billboard 200, but did reach No. 7 on the developing artists chart, Heatseekers Albums.
At No. 1 next week, watch for Queens of the Stone Age to perhaps lock up its first chart-topper with the debut of "Like Clockwork." The set could sell around 80,000 by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, June 9. The effort is their first for Matador Records, and could give the label its first No. 1 (and third top 10 overall).
On SoundScan's Building chart (below), Queens of the Stone Age is No. 1, followed by Sleeping With Sirens at No. 2. The Building tally is a precursor to the final Billboard 200 ranking -- reflecting the first four days (Monday through Thursday) of SoundScan's tracking week as reported by six major merchants.
As for the rest of the top 10: Daft Punk's "Random Access Memories" is No. 3, while Blake Shelton's "Based on a True Story" is in the fourth position. Darius Rucker's "True Believers is No. 5, Imagine Dragons' "Night Visions" is No. 6 and the soundtrack to "The Great Gatsby" is No. 7. Justin Timberlake's "The 20/20 Experience" is No. 8, Florida Georgia Line's "Here's to the Good Times" is No. 9 and the "Now 46" album rounds out the top 10 at No. 10.
