Five Finger Death Punch Announce New Double Album, Tour Dates

Five Finger Death Punch Keeping 'Creative Muscle' Sharp on Tour

Five Finger Death Punch are planning to give fans not one, but two new studio albums this year.

The band just announced plans to release a double-album, with the first disc (so far untitled) due July 23 on Prospect Park in the United States. The second will be released in fall 2013.

The metal act started writing and recording after a couple of years on tour and found itself knee-deep in material for its fourth album.

Five Finger Death Punch Fights Suicide

"Once we passed the 24th song we knew we're going to have to do a double album," says guitarist Zoltan Bathory. "We had this massive amount of music that's very dear to us, possibly the best material this band has ever created. At that point there was no way to decide which songs to leave off the album. So we made the decision to release them all."

"Lift Me Up," the new album's first single, will premiere today during a live performance at Revolver Magazine's Golden Gods Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. That performance can be streamed here. The studio version hits U.S. radio May 13 and iTunes the next day. Along with Rob Zombie, they'll co-headline the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, a North American tour beginning June 29.

Five Finger Death's last album, 2011's "American Capitalist," debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and has exceeded 500,00 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
