Red Hot Chili Peppers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, D'Angelo, The National, Willie Nelson are also going to San Francisco, Aug. 9-11

Paul McCartney is adding to his busy summer with top billing at the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival, which will take root in San Francisco's sprawling Golden Gate Park from August 9 - 11. For his first time at OSL, the former Beatle will be joined by festival staples Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and a resurgent Nine Inch Nails, among many others.

Macca recently announced a series of U.S. dates on his "Out There" tour and he'll be stopping at Bonnaroo in June. He's no stranger to festivals, however, having headlined Coachella in 2009.

The legendary artist's visit to Fog City will be a family affair: his son James McCartney is also on the bill.

The Chili Peppers and Phoenix are coming off performances at the aforementioned Coachella this past weekend, while NIN are set to headline Voodoo in early November.

Other topline artists filling this year's Outside Lands lineup include EDM stars Kaskade and Pretty Lights, NYC-based indie favorites The National and Vampire Weekend, R&B crooner D'Angelo, bonafide country music icon Willie Nelson and, because no festival would be complete without them, Hall & Oates.

Grizzly Bear, Dawes, Emili Sande, Jessie Ware, Jurrasic 5 and Band of Horses are also in the mix. More artists will be announced soon; tickets go on sale Thursday (April 18) at noon PDT.

Last year's Outside Lands, which sold out, featured a bombastic, genre-bending lineup that included Metallica, Neil Young, Foo Fighters, Skrillex, Jack White, Beck and Sigur Ros.
