"Glee" star Matthew Morrison is going back to his Broadway roots. The actor-singer will release "Where It All Began," a new album of standards, June 4 on Adam Levine's 222 Records.

The collection was produced by Phil Ramone and marks the debut release for the Maroon 5 singer's label.

"Where It All Began" is comprised of 12 songs, including "Singin' in the Rain," "The Lady Is a Tramp" and "Luck Be a Lady," which Morrisson recorded at Capitol Studios.

In addition to the album release, Morrison stars in a new PBS special airing June 1 called "Where It All Began -- Live From the Bushnell," shot in Hartford.

Before scoring the role of Will Schuester on Fox TV's "Glee," Morrison found success on Broadway in productions of "Footloose," "Hairspray" and "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." His portrayal of Fabrizio Naccarelli in "The Light in the Piazza" scored him a Tony nomination.

"I enjoyed the journey back to my roots on this new album,” said Morrison in a statement. "This is the album I’ve always wanted to make, and I am looking forward to sharing the experience with everyone."

Morrison's self-titled debut album was released in May 2011. The adult-pop set topped out at No. 24 on the Billboard 200 and to date has sold 55,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. One of the album's songs, "Summer Rain," reached No. 16 on the Adult Contemporary chart.
