Rolling Stones, the Killers, Johnny Marr Among 2013 NME Awards Winners

Florence Welch, Biffy Clyro and Palma Violets also took home awards at the UK ceremony.

Not that there was any doubt, but the NME has made it official, giving Johnny Marr the 2013 Godlike Genius Award at its 2013 bash.

The former Smiths guitarist was among many honorees at the UK magazine's annual ceremony in London on Wednesday, which gave the Rolling Stones a pair of awards, for Best Live Band and Best Music Film. Florence + The Machine's Florence Welch was also a two-time winner, picking up Best Solo Artist and Best Dancefloor Anthem for her collaboration with Calvin Harris, "Sweet Nothing."

The Killers took home Best International Band, with Biffy Clyro winning homeland honors as Best British Band.

Rising act Palma Violets won the Best New Band award, while One Direction had to settle for Worst Band, with the group's Harry Styles winning Villain of the Year.

“I think it’s serious and funny and sweet and very rocking to get the Godlike Genius Award," Marr, who recently released his solo debut, "The Messenger," told the audience. "I’m looking forward to being lazy for the rest of my life.”

The award picks were based on over 10 million votes from NME readers.
