Beyonce, Kings of Leon To Headline U.K.'s V Festival
Dual city fest set for Aug. 17 and 18 at Chelmsford and Staffordshire
V Festival, the U.K. music extravaganza sponsored by Virgin Media, got a major dose of diva power when it announced its headliner would be the star of the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show-- Beyonce.
The festival's other headliner is Kings of Leon, who were recently announced to be playing New York City's Governor's Ball fest as well. Other high profile acts on the V Fest lineup include fun., Ellie Goulding, The Script, Calvin Harris, Jessie J, and Kendrick Lamar.
In its 18th year, V Festival will be held Aug. 17 and 18 at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire. Last year's biggest acts included the Stone Roses, the Killers, David Guetta, and Ed Sheeran.
The V Fest appearance will mark Bey's only European festival performance of 2013, as part of an expansive European tour from April 15 to May 29, which starts in Eastern Europe and ends in Scandinavia. The music superstar will bring her "Mrs. Carter" tour to North America from June 28 to August 3, wrapping at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. Following the success of her HBO documentary, her fifth studio album is due later this year.
