The tour begins with one of the National's biggest gigs ever-- a June 5 headlining gig at the Barclays Center, the same Brooklyn venue where artists like Jay-Z and Coldplay have recently shared the stage. Brooklyn avant-rockers Dirty Projectors will open the National's next four shows, in addition to the four more concerts, before both acts play Bonnaroo, June 13-16.
The National's last LP, 2010's "High Violet," peaked at No. 1 on Alternative Albums and No. 3 on the Billboard 200. The album was released via 4AD, an imprint within the London-based indie Beggar's Banquet, whom the National have recorded their folk-inflected indie rock for since 2005.
