Britney Spears and Jason Trawick 'Call Off' Relationship
Year-Long Engagement Is Off
Britney Spears and Jason Trawick have called it quits, the former couple announced on Friday.
"Britney Spears and Jason Trawick have mutually agreed to end their one-year engagement," Spears' rep said in a statement to People. "As two mature adults, they came to the difficult decision to go their separate ways while continuing to remain friends."

Both the pop star and her former agent made statements of their own, with Spears adding, "Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement. I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends."
Trawick left WME and exited his professional role with the singer in 2011 to focus on their romantic relationship and other projects. The marriage would have been the third for the pop star, who was previously married to Kevin Federline and Jason Alexander, a union which was quickly annulled. In April, Trawick was added to Spears' legal conservatorship, giving him partial control over managing her personal affairs alongside her father, Jamie Spears.
"As this chapter ends for us a new one begins," Trawick said in a statement, per People. "I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever."
Britney Spears Confirms 'X Factor' Exit
It was a day of big news for Britney, who confirmed on Friday that she would not be returning to "X Factor" for a second season at the judges' table.
"I am so proud of my teens but it's time for me to get back in the studio," she said in a separate statement. Her housecleaning continued with a new agency, CAA, which confirmed her signing to The Hollywood Reporter on Friday. She'd previously been repped by Trawick's WME.

With her attention back on music, the upcoming album will be her eighth studio set, with collaborators including Will.i.am, Ester Dean and Hit-Boy attached to the project. 2011's "Femme Fatale" marked another addition to her collection of No. 1 albums, moving over 1 million copies.
