Following the success of the last year's reissue of "The Nightmare Before Christmas" soundtrack, Walt Disney Records is planning to unveil more "Nightmare" tunes in time for Halloween 2008.

Last year's two-disc reissue of the album, which bowed on Oct. 24, 2006, included the original 1993 soundtrack by Danny Elfman as well as covers of "Nightmare" songs by Fall Out Boy, She Wants Revenge, Marilyn Manson, Panic! At The Disco and Fiona Apple.

Tentatively due in September 2008, a new "Nightmare" album is slated to feature more covers from Plain White T's and Rise Against, among others. In a recent Houston Chronicle interview, Plain White T's singer Tom Higgenson said the band had recorded "Jack's Lament" for the album.

Presently, it has not been determined if the 2008 album will be a stand-alone set of "Nightmare" covers, or a straight reissue of the 2006 version with bonus tracks.

The 2006 reissue has sold 169,000 in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It debuted at No. 31 on The Billboard 200 and reached No. 1 on Top Holiday Albums and No. 2 on Top Soundtracks.
