The group, led by singer/guitarist Howard Devoto, will play Feb. 13 London's Forum and the next night at Manchester's Academy. Tickets go on sale Monday (Sept. 15).
Devoto formed Magazine in 1977 after his brief but formative stint in the early Buzzcocks. The group's difficult to classify sound blended punk energy with New Wave sounds, in the process leaving a mark on the Smiths and Morrissey, Pulp and Radiohead, to name a few.
Magazine split in 1981 following the album "Magic, Muder and the Weather." Devoto was barely heard from in the '90s, but returned to action in 2001 with an album in collaboration with former Buzzcocks bandmate Pete Shelley.
At the 2009 shows, Devoto will be flanked by Dave Formula, Barry Adamson and John Doyle. A guitarist to be named will fill in for John McGeoch, who died in 2004.
The gigs will be recorded for possible release next year, according to the band.
