After more than a decade of rock, Fall Out Boy came back at the top of their game with the album American Beauty/American Psycho, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

But was the chart-topper a guaranteed hit?

"I don't think we ever really go into it or leave a record thinking whether or not it's going to be a hit," frontman Patrick Stump tells Billboard in the video below. "You really can't contrive it. You just have to be excited about what you're doing."
