Camila Cabello kicked off Billboard's Women in Music 2017 award show with a soaring and stripped down performance of her highest-charting solo hit "Havana."
The singer, who was being honored as Billboard's breakthrough artist was introduced by "a friend and a fan" Diplo. "The stage is clearly set for her debut solo album in 2018," he said of Cabello.
She then took the stage, backed by a trio of a guitarist, cajon and keys. The simplistic instrumentation allowed her crazy vocal runs and impressive control to take a front seat, resulting in a compelling and moving performance that honors her roots.
