Alessia Cara & Kyle Join 2017 MTV Video Music Awards Performers

Both artists are nominated for moon persons as well.

If you can believe it, this Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards just keep getting bigger and better. 

On Thursday (Aug. 24) it was announced that Alessia Cara and Kyle have been added to the already stacked roster of performers at this weekend’s event. 

This year’s VMAs is set to be a big night for both recently-announced-performers. Cara is not only making her main stage debut performance to follow-up last year’s pre-show set, but the emerging singer is also nominated for three moon persons for her hit “Scars to Your Beautiful” (best direction, best fight against the system and video of the year) and another for "Stay" (best electronic dance video). 

As for Kyle, the rapper also sees a nomination for best visual effects for his massive collaboration with Lil Yachty, “iSpy.”

Cara and Kyle join performers Demi LovatoEd Sheeran, Fifth Harmony, Julia Michaels, Kendrick Lamar, Khalid, Logic, Miley CyrusPost Malone, Shawn Mendes and 30 Seconds to Mars, among others. 

The VMAs air on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on MTV.
