The nominations are in for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. Beyonce leads the field with 11 noms for her visual album Lemonade and Adele is right behind her with eight mentions for 25. Naturally, artists across the field are weighing in over social media.

Nick Jonas was hoping the excellent video for his Tove Lo-collab "Close" would net him a nomination, but alas, to no avail. He was frustrated at first, but he quickly turned to focus on the positives, of which he has many.

Otherwise, some artists were pleasantly surprised, while some are clearly used to this sort of thing and a number of acts quickly mobilized their fan bases to get in on the voting.

Below, we've highlighted how artists such as Chance the Rapper, Troye Sivan and others reacted to the nominations. If you’d like to support your favorites, fans can vote for Video of the Year, Best Male Video, Best Female Video and the new Best Long Form Video category at vma.mtv.com, starting Tuesday. The show airs Aug. 28 from New York City’s Madison Square Garden at 8 p.m. ET.
