Twenty One Pilots & A$AP Rocky Combine for VMAs Performance
Twenty One Pilots frontman Tyler Joseph rapped parts of songs like "Heavydirtysoul" and "Lane Boy," trading verses, rapid-fire style, with A$AP Rocky. 21P drummer Josh Dun pounded away as the pair worked the stage.
Earlier this week, Billboard interviewed Twenty One Pilots' Tyler Joseph about the A$AP Rocky collab, and what it's like to walk a red carpet at an event like this.
On planning the VMA performance, Joseph told Billboard, "I had a few conference calls with MTV. They said, 'This is what we're looking for. We're looking for a certain type of energy.' They want Rocky and I to be a part of the performance from top to bottom. That's cool, because a lot of times with these collaborations, you might only bring a person out for a verse."
