Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj perform onstage during the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards at The Forum on August 24, 2014 in Inglewood, California.

"Bang Bang" by Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj is one of the most high-profile singles of this summer, and the three ladies performed the combustible pop single for the first time ever at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards. The trio opened this year's VMAs ceremony by bringing the single to life in stunning fashion -- and with hastily prepared fashion! -- onstage at the The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. on Sunday night (Aug. 24).

The performance followed individual performances by Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, and after "Break Free" and "Anaconda" were set forth, Jessie J got to the main event by striding into view and belting the opening verse of "Bang Bang." Grande eventually joined Jessie in a new outfit and showed off some as-yet-unseen choreography, and then Minaj came out to handle her rapid-fire verse... but had to hold up the top of her black ensemble to keep from avoiding a wardrobe malfunction. The sight of Minaj awkwardly side-stepping an unexpected flashing made for an insta-classic VMAs moment.

Earlier this month, "Bang Bang" scored the second-highest debut of the year on the Hot 100 chart when it blasted onto the tally at No. 6 (the song currently clocks in at No. 10 on the chart). The No. 6 peak match Jessie J's previous high with "Domino" in February 2012.

"Bang Bang" will be included on Jessie J's third album, Sweet Talker, due out on Oct. 14, as well as on the deluxe edition of Grande's sophomore LP My Everything, out on Aug. 25. Grande and Minaj are set to perform "Break Free" and "Anaconda," respectively, later during the MTV VMAs.
