"Tonight we honor Hollywood's best and whitest -- sorry brightest." With that joke, host Neil Patrick Harris opened the Oscars. Then, just a split-second later, fans were treated to the first (?) musical number of the night, "Moving Pictures." With NPH as your host, did people really expect anything else?

Oscars 2015: All Our Coverage

"I know the camera's on and were behaving our best, but secretly I hope someone pulls a Kanye West," Harris sang to laughs in a number that highlighted films from all the Academy's history, from current films nominated tonight like American Sniper to Back to the Future

Then, things got even more exciting as Anna Kendrick -- donning her Into the Woods Cinderella costume -- joined the fun. "The joy of pretending and all happy endings except in Gone Girl when that lady slit your throaaaaaaat" Kendrick belted in a fun nod to Harris' Gone Girl part.

Then things got even crazier when Jack Black joined in to perform a spoken-word number from Into the Woods (done in the film by Meryl Streep). Of course, the lyrics were changed to be just a bit more Tenacious D.

"Who will get her statue, the results are coming at you, at the 87th Oscars moving picture show" Harris memorably concluded the number.
