Gloria Trevi on Recording In English, Breaking Language Barriers at Billboard Latin Conference: Watch
Latin music veteran Gloria Trevi, who is getting ready to release her new single “Habla Blah Blah,” sat down backstage at the 25th Annual Billboard Latin Conference to discuss her desire to record music in English.
“I’ve wanted to record something in English for a very long time. I want to break the language barrier that exists in music,” Trevi says, noting that “Habla Blah Blah” is one of her favorite songs from last year’s “De Película.”
“I know my music has broken generational boundaries and class barriers in the past, but now I want my fans to be able to understand me as well.”
On April 23, Trevi participated in the Divas Panel at the Latin Conference in Miami, which also included Kat Dahlia, Leslie Grace and La Santa Cecilia’s La Marisoul.
During her backstage interview, Trevi also discussed her appreciation and support from Billboard.
“When I was making my comeback from a very hard situation in my life, a situation that taught me a lot and made me the person I am today, Billboard was incredible and welcomed me back with open arms,” he says. “They gave me the opportunity to perform for them on such a grand stage with no judgment. Music shouldn’t be judged, it should be heard, felt and lived.”
