After announcing all the other nominations on CBS This Morning and on Twitter throughout the day, music fans had to wait until Friday night's A Very Grammy Christmas special for the big one.

Without further ado, here are the 2015 Album of the Year Grammy nominations:

Beck, Morning Phase
Beyonce, Beyonce
Ed Sheeran, x
Sam Smith, In the Lonely Hour
Pharrell Williams, Girl

The special also served as an hour-long concert -- a mixture of Christmas music (Ariana Grande's "Santa Tell Me" and Pharrell Williams' take on the Eagles' "Please Come Home for Christmas) and pop hits (Maroon 5's "This Love"/"Animals" mash-up and Tim McGraw's "Live Like You Were Dyin'"). Host LL Cool J sat down with the performers, which also included Mary J. Blige, to talk about their holiday and Grammy memories.

Before the Album of the Year nominees were announced, Sam Smith -- this year's Grammy golden boy -- closed the night by singing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."
