Beyoncé performs during the Formation World Tour at Amsterdam ArenA on Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

In this week’s round of Billboard’s Fan Army Face-Off, Beyonce's Beyhive is buzzing circles around Nick Jonas’ army of fans. After Beyoncé’s hive beat out Miley Cyrus’ #Smilers and Jonas’ crew wiped out Britney Spears’ #BritneyArmy, the two fan armies are coming face to face in the third round.

Only true fans of Nick Jonas know that the artist’s career started long before the Jonas Brothers. The youngest of the Jonas trio was the first to be discovered. His entertainment debut began on Broadway in shows like A Christmas Carol, Beauty and the Beast and Les Misérables. At age 12, Jonas was signed and recorded his first solo Christian pop album, Nicholas Jonas. Jonas, along with his two brothers Kevin and Joe, joined talents as the Jonas Brothers and quickly gained millions of fans with their second studio album, Jonas Brothers, which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. In 2010, fans supported Jonas branching out from his brothers in Nick Jonas & The Administration. Since Jonas has excited his army with various acting gigs and reinvented himself as a solo pop artist with Nick Jonas (2014), which brought hits “Jealous” and “Chains,” and his latest project, Last Year Was Complicated (2016).

Fan Army Face-Off 2016: An Introduction

The Beyhive has followed Beyoncé from her days of Destiny’s Child to her breakout solo superstardom. After banding together as “Independent Women” (and men), the Beyhive watched as their diva jump-started her career as a solo artist with her first No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 single “Crazy in Love.” The Grammy winning artist has released hit after hit embracing female empowerment with singles like “Me, Myself and I,” “Irreplaceable,” “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” “Diva,” “Run the World (Girls),” “Rocket” and almost every track from her latest chart-topping album Lemonade. Beyoncé inspired her Beyhive to be just as influential, and they're responsible for the recent surge use of the lemon and bee emojis.
