A-Trak to Join Emerging Markets Panel at Billboard Touring Conference

Electronic dance music artist/producer A-Trak will join a team of live music professionals to discuss the growth of emerging international markets as fertile ground for touring artists at the 13th annual Billboard Touring Conference, set for Nov. 9-10 at the SLS Beverly Hills in Los Angeles.

Titled "Emerging Markets For Fun & Profit," the session will explore how savvy artists are tapping into the worldwide opportunities for live performance, in large part driven by Internet access and the huge popularity of music festivals. Nowhere is this more true than in the electronic music genre, where no language barrier exists and the culture transcends traditional geographic borders.

Beyond historic overseas markets like Europe and the U.K., South America, Asia and the Pacific Rim, Western artists are finding entertainment-hungry music fans in places that seldom showed up in a route book even a few years back, including Pakistan, the Middle East, South Africa, Bali, and even Cuba.

Touring professionals who are finding success in these far-flung markets will examine the opportunities and the potential pitfalls touring artists face when venturing into these new territories. A-Trak will be joined on the panel by Adam Russakoff, executive producer/director of Business Affairs/Talent Buyer, Ultra Music festival; Brett Williams, manager, Monotone; Huston Powell, promoter/talent buyer, C3 presents; Maria May, senior agent, CAA, and Sam Hunt, Booking Agent, Windish Agency.
