Ty Dolla $ign Calls Lauren Jauregui's Solo Album 'Fire' at the 2018 AMAs: Watch

Ty Dolla $ign chatted with Billboard’s Chelsea Briggs on the red carpet at the 2018 American Music Awards on Tuesday (Oct. 9), discussing new music, his relationship with Lauren Jauregui, and working with Dinah Jane.

“New album coming soon,” Ty Dolla $ign tells Billboard. “Me and Jeremih are dropping our collab album.”

The rapper also opens up about his relationship with Lauren Jauregui, calling the singer “amazing” and “the best.”

Asked if he has heard any of her forthcoming solo debut record, he says, “She’s played me all the songs. I’m super proud of her because she’s writing all the lyrics and really going in.”

“I’ve seen a lot of people go out there and just take songs from everybody else and just do whatever,” he continues, “But she really has passion for the music and I’m excited to see what the people think. I know it’s fire, though.”

Ty Dolla $ign also mentions that he would love to one day collaborate with Kali Uchis, calling her “dope.” While on the subject of collaborations, he talks about “Bottled Up,” the track with Dinah Jane and Marc E. Bassy.

“Dinah’s my homegirl,” he shares. “Whenever she calls, I’m gonna come. She had her smash, and she hit me up, she’s like, ‘Yo, I need you on there.’ I sent the verse back in like 30 minutes.”
