Niall Horan Shares Advice for BTS on 2017 AMAs Red Carpet

Niall Horan has had quite the year since his first solo performance with "This Town" at last year's American Music Awards on Sunday night (Nov. 19) in Los Angeles.

Billboard spoke with the "Slow Hands" singer on the red carpet about his incredible year, his stepping stone into the country music world and what it is so special about the AMAs in particular.

"Of all the events that I go I think this is my favorite," he explains. "It's very rare you get all your musical peers in one room and there's something special about that stage."

Horan was nominated for best new artist at this year's ceremony, something he describes as "unbelievable." "Win or lose, I've had a good year."

When asked about the possibility of playing new pal and collaborator Maren Morris' wedding, Horan joked that he'd have to get invited first. "If I was around, I would," he says.

The former boy bander also extended his advice with current sensation BTS, who made their American award show performance tonight. "Keep your head on your shoulders and don't let it get away from you," the former One Directioner says. "And make it last as long as you can. I'm looking forward to what they do in the States."
