It hasn't been easy these past few months for the members of Linkin Park. Like so many friends, family members and fans, the band has had to cope with the sudden loss of their singer Chester Bennington who committed suicide July 20.
Four months down the line, they added a new chapter to the healing process by shouting out their old, dear friend after winning favorite artist in the alternative rock category at the American Music Awards on Sunday (Nov. 19) in Los Angeles.
"We dedicate this award to him, to his memory, to his talent, to his sense of humor, his joy," Mike Shinoda said, flanked by bandmates Rob Bourdon and Brad Delson. "All of you, tonight, whether you’re a fan or an artist, I want you to take a moment to appreciate what you’ve got and make Chester proud."
