Midland Honors Burt Reynolds With Mighty 'East Bound and Down' Cover at 2018 CMA Awards

On Wednesday night (Nov. 14) at the Country Music Association Awards, trio Midland ripped through a quick-picking rendition of "East Bound and Down" in honor of late actor/director/producer Burt Reynolds, who died in September.

The song, originally performed by Jerry Reed, is from the soundtrack to Reynolds' 1977 Smokey and the Bandit.

The Texas act let the music do all the talking, not saying much throughout the quick though mighty performance. Midland was up for three awards throughout the night.
