The Seattle Thrift Shop from 'Thrift Shop' Is Closing, and Macklemore's Not Happy

Macklemore's always been a hometown kind of guy -- he raps about Seattle, films his music videos at local landmarks, and wears Seattle sports jerseys onstage (even for teams that no longer exist). So it makes sense that he would be upset when one of the thrift shops that started it all, the Capitol Hill Value Village, reported it would be closing.

The store is featured in the video for his 2012 breakout hit "Thrift Shop," alongside a number of other Seattle-area secondhand institutions. Luckily, there are a few others nearby for when you only have $20 in your pocket.
