The singer/rapper also performed two songs that he called brand-new -- one with a chorus of “flippin’ all night.” No song titles have been confirmed yet, but a video clip of one of the new songs can be seen below:

Despite going up against Nicki Minaj’s main stage set, a fervent crowd came out for Makonnen’s 35-minute performance. Amongst the new songs, he mixed in numerous well-received cuts, leading up to, of course, “Tuesday” for the finale. He teased the beat early on, but of course wasn’t about to waste his breakthrough hit that early. As the set wore on, “I Don’t Sell Molly No More,” “Slow It Down,” and others earned spirited a response, with much of the crowd singing back the lyrics and inventing dance moves to the downtempo beats. Quite a few fans already had the hand motions for this year’s “Whip It” and the aforementioned “flip it” song down pat.

Earlier in the month, he vaguely tweeted what looked to be a potential album title (ILoveMakonnen 2), along with the date "10/2015." At the time, however, he didn’t confirm whether or not he was referring to the upcoming album.

His ILoveMakonnen EP -- which includes “Tuesday" -- was released in December 2014, and his latest mixtape, Drink More Water 5, dropped in March 2015. He is signed to Drake’s OVO Sound label.
