Mayer Hawthorne

With roots in Hitsville USA, Mayer Hawthorne has the spirit to back up his love of soul. The Detroit-bred artist struts his stuff in his song "Handyman," an upbeat Motown-style number. "This is an old song that was recorded during the How Do You Do sessions, but too late to make it on the album,” Hawthorne explains of the previously unreleased track.

"Handy Man" has a certain sweetness that mimics the artist himself. The groove-inducing track is a standalone release. Like Hawthorne, it reeks of retro style that is neither dated nor replicated.
