Rapper Sean Price, Member of Hip-Hop Group Heltah Skeltah, Dies at 43

"The cause of death is currently unknown, but it was reported that he died in his sleep. He's survived by his wife, and his three children," reads a statement from Duck Down Music. "Sean's family and friends are asking for time to grieve and process the news. Further details will be issued when more information is available."

Price (who first performed under the name Ruck) was one-half of hip-hop duo Heltah Skeltah, which released its debut album, Nocturnal, in 1996. The group also included Jahmal Bush (aka Rock). The two rappers were also members of the hip-hop supergroup Boot Camp Clik. Price's latest solo album, Mic Tyson, was released in 2012.

Dozens of hip-hop stars -- including DJ Premier, Killer Mike and Black Thought -- shared their condolences on social media. See their tributes below.
