Hip-Hop vocalist Mos Def (aka. Dante Smith) performs during Day 2 of The 2009 Austin City Limits Music Festival at Zilker Park on October 3, 2009 in Austin, Texas.

Yasiin Bey, the rapper-actor-activist formerly known as Mos Def, is now trying his hand at standup comedy.

Bey had his first ever public stand up show at Montreal's Phi Centre Tuesday night and, as Cult Montreal reports, his "Happy Birthday! Shut up." show was filled with plenty of rap jokes.

"I love hip hop, (but) 'rap' is like if Donald Trump were black," he reportedly ad-libbed during his warm-up.

From there, Bey's attention turned to some of the genre's current figures.

Of Kanye's reported Pan-Am Games performance: "He threw that mic in the air so hard it never came down. I was talking to El-P from Run the Jewels the other day and he said it turned into a bird."

On Drake and Meek Mill's ongoing beef: "The male ego is a boring place."

And he even reportedly described a date between Wiz Khalifa and Caitlyn Jenner.

"My dream had been to do stand-up comedy,” Cult Montreal reports Bey told his audience with a straight face. "and I'm sitting down.... Don't I look like I'm living my dream? I'm here living my dream and I look like Tyler on the cover of that album."

Here are some short videos of Bey's set, which lasted more than an hour:
