Pan Am Games Issues Statement on Kanye West's Closing Ceremony Performance
Following reports from last weekend's Pan Am Games Closing Ceremony in Toronto that Kanye West threw a fit during his set and cut it short when technical difficulties arose, Pan Am has issued a statement saying this is not so.
The statement says that West only had 13 minutes to perform during the live broadcast and fulfilled this commitment "in great style."
"While there was technical difficulty at the end due to circumstances beyond anyone's control, he rolled with it the way great artists do," says the statement by Neala Barton, SVP communications and media relations, Toronto 2015. "To imply that he he abruptly cut short his performance or that he was anything less than professional is incorrect. We could not have been more thrilled."
Previous reports had stated West's mic cut out at the end of show, leading him to seem upset and throw his mic into the air before storming offstage without any comment. Officials blamed a "technical error" following.
