Miguel Issues a Statement After Saying He Makes 'Better Music' Than Frank Ocean
The "Adorn" singer posted a message to Instagram Monday essentially blaming his comment on his competitiveness, which he said is essential to do what he does. But that shouldn't exclude any other artists.
"Yes, I am competitive, we ALL have to have a level of competitiveness to put ourselves on the line day in and day out," he wrote. "But I also believe there's room for all artists."
Miguel continued, plugging his current album, Wildheart, saying that's what the LP is all about: "celebrating individuality."
To wrap it up, he wrote, nodding to Ocean's 2012 debut album title, Channel Orange, "There's no need to compare apple to oranges, there's something out there for everyone. That's why I'm here and I'm able to do what I do. So, thank you to everyone who enjoys my music and all love to anyone who doesn't, we're all here to find our own wave and that's OK!"
