The BET Awards nearly got off on the wrong note when one of its performers, DeJ Loaf, was involved in a fist-fight with her former management during soundcheck.

The hip-hop newcomer, who was nominated for three BET Awards and booked to perform during the show, was caught-up in a brawl with a pair of now-ex managers who showed up unannounced during rehearsals Saturday at the Nokia Theatre.

DeJ Loaf (real name Deja Trimble), her brother and her new management got into a scuffle with the old team, which she split with in recent weeks, according to TMZ. One person is said to have gone to hospital for stitches. A source says DeJ herself did not hit anyone.
