Nipsey Hussle was arrested in Burbank, Calif., Wednesday night after police found a bottle of codeine in his car during a traffic stop.

According to TMZ, Hussle -- born Ermias Asghedom -- was leaving his recording studio when he was stopped for driving without plates. Officers then found that he had an outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended license, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Codene is commonly mixed with soda and ice as a cocktail called sizzurp.

When Asghedom was unable to show officers a prescription for the narcotic pain medicine and cough reliever, he was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, as well as for the outstanding warrant.

He was later released after posting $1,000 bail.

Last year Asghedom was arrested in Los Angeles' Hyde Park neighborhood on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a police officer.
