On Thursday night's Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tyler, the Creator gave a warm shout-out to his former Starbucks boss: “I hate you so much. I hate you, Cindy!”

“Her firing me was the greatest moment of my life,” he said, “My chains was free!”

Before his Odd Future days, Tyler spent two and a half years manning the Starbucks counter as a cheese-danish-stealing barista. Then, Cindy came around.

“Somebody was like, ‘Yo, you’re getting fired in nine minutes, boy,’” he recalled. Tyler breaks down those succeeding minutes from the phone call to his mom to accepting his Starbucks fate to, well, eating more cheese danishes (three, to be exact). Lucky for Tyler, and maybe not so much Cindy, he doesn’t have to worry about taking orders anymore.
