Watch K.Flay Take on Bangkok in Her New Video 'Can't Sleep': Exclusive

Indie hip-hop artist K.Flay is back with a brand new video, which translates the insomniac theme of her single "Can't Sleep" (off her 2014 debut Life As A Dog) into a 24-hour romp through one of the world's most sleepless cities: Bangkok.

K. Flay Talks New Music, Touring & Being Inspired by Kanye West

"This video is really special to me," K.Flay tells Billboard. "It was shot over the course of twenty four hours in Bangkok -- we wanted to capture all the feelings of restlessness and excitement and loneliness that the song conveys. To have Jason Paul [an international free runner signed by Red Bull], who is a super badass, play the lead was amazing. His movement is the driving force behind it all." Though the video is inspired by far-flung locales and superhuman movement, the song's meaning is more personal. "I've always had a complicated relationship with sleep," K.Flay says. "Even as a little kid I never wanted to go to bed -- it always seemed unfair in some way. This song is about that feeling, but the flip side as well. On the one hand, I don't want to miss out on opportunities and experiences; on the other, I quite literally can't sleep because my mind won't shut off."

"I’m really excited to be on the road this summer," she tells Billboard. "I've been working hard to make the live show as dynamic as it can be, and I'm anxious (in a good way) for people to see it."
