Nas has promised a new album will drop in the coming months.

The veteran rapper shared the big news at a show in Orlando, Florida over the weekend where he told fans, "2015, new album this summer," Uproxx reports. A user-generated video captured the moment and can be seen below.

The album will be the follow-up to Life Is Good, which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in July 2012. Life Is Good was Nas’ sixth career No. 1 album and the artist has sold more than 14.3 million units in the United States.

Nas: 'I Don't Listen to 'Illmatic''

Nas (known to his closest as Nasir Jones) has kept busy in the years since. The Queens native featured in the documentary, Nas: Time Is Illmatic, which was released last year to coincide with the 20th anniversary of his celebrated debut LP, Illmatic. He has also launched Mass Appeal Records, an independent record label, in 2014. Earlier this year he found time to perform at the NBA All-Star Game, he’s collaborated with the likes of Fashawn and Madonna and he dropped "The Season" with J Dilla on production duties.

Nas revealed last October that he was wrapping up his final album on Def Jam. "Finished up my new album/ Single about to be dropping/ Last album on Def Jam and I got so many options."
