Middleweight Boxing Champion Andre Ward is the latest high-profile athlete to sign with Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports.

Fabolous, DJ Mustard & Angie Martinez Set for Roc Nation Sports' 'Throne Boxing' Event

The athlete confirmed the news with an Instagram post Friday.

Ward is 27-0 and the current WBA and The Ring super middleweight champion, and former WBC super-middleweight champion, and has been praised as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world. He has been largely inactive since 2013 due mostly to issues with former promoter.

The news comes on the same day as Roc Nation's debut boxing event, "throne boxing," at Madison Square Garden. 

Roc Nation Sports' roster also includes NFL players Dez Bryant, Victor Cruz, Geno Smith and Ndamukong Suh, as well as MLB stars Yoenis Cespedes, C.C. Sabathia and Robinson Cano, and NBA superstar Kevin Durant.
